June happenings

Eric attended 11 year old scout day camp this past Saturday. ( The date is wrong on the picture) Anyway, he had a great time. His favorite part of the day was getting soaked by the fire truck and being able to spend time with boys his own age. He is the only 11 yr old scout in our ward. I'm so grateful that Eric is so excited about the scouting program and for everything that the scout program is teaching my son.

Kaylee thought it would be funny to take a picture with Nate all dressed up in her sunglasses and hat. He also has the cheesy smile to go with it. I couldn't help but laugh. I love this age. His two-year old personality is really shining through.

Chase's First Fish

Chase could hardly wait to go fishing on Saturday and by that afternoon he was chomping at the bit. Tod and Uncle Lance took him, Kaylee and cousin Chris to Lake Mary to go fishing. Chase was so excited when he was able to reel his first fish in all by himself. When they got back to Grandmas he proudly displayed his rainbow trout and then helped Tod clean it. They decided to cook it on the hot coals in fire so Chase helped get it ready by adding butter and salt and then wrapping it in foil. When it was done cooking Chase ate that fish with a big smile on his face.

Wax Museum

One of the last projects Eric had to do for his fifth grade class was a report on a famous person in History. Eric chose Daniel Boone. One part of the project was called the Wax Museum. He had to dress up like Daniel Boone. All of the fifth grade classes met in the gym and made a big square. Parents and all the other classes in the school were able to come into the gym and push a button on their hand( drawn on with a red marker). The student then gave a 30 second run down on that person. Eric did a great job. Its so hard to believe that he is going to the middle school in the Fall.

Camping in the Snow

Ok, so there wasn't a whole lot of snow that stuck on the ground but it was sooo cold. Poor Nate's hands were like ice until he discovered the pockets in his jacket. The weather was only bad for the first couple of days and then by Sunday it was still a little windy but a lot better. We were camping outside of Williams with the McGuires and some of their family. During the weekend we spent time riding quads, huddling by the fire and playing in the hammock. The kids kept warm by building forts out of fallen logs and pine needles. Everyone had a great time despite the cold weather.
