The title kind of sums up our life in the past couple of weeks. On the 14th of March my brothers and sister and I threw my dad a surprise retirement party. Saturday morning my parents headed to Flagstaff to celebrate their 36th wedding anniversery and as soon as the coast was clear we all decended to set everything up. We invited his brothers and sisters and people from their family home evening group. We even had one of his best friends come clear from Utah for the party. My mom had a heck of a time stalling in Flagstaff and she could tell my dad was growing very impatient. He was very surprised to see everyone there when the garage door went up. We had a nice dinner and then everyone moved inside where stories were shared and people were able to visit.
The scare occured last Monday. Tod was driving to Kingman and had chest pain and left arm pain. He called me to have me set up an appointment with the doctor for Tuesday and when I did that they told me that he needed to go to an urgent care or emergency room as soon as possible. Well he decided to go and get all his emergency calls done and then go to the Urgent care. Once there the doctor did an EKG and then decided it would be better to put him in an ambulance and send him to the hospital. I left the kids with Sue and headed to Kingman. Before I left Chino Valley I called a good friend in Kingman and asked if he could go and give Tod a blessing at the hospital. Tod's parents ended up coming and staying with the kids Monday night and all day Tuesday. When Tod's boss found out what was going on with Tod he turned around and headed back to kingman to help give Tod a blessing. He just happened to be on his way home and had passed through Kingman about 30 minutes before he got the call about Tod. I feel like we were being watched over. By the time I got there the doctors had decided to keep him over night and observe him. When we finally got the test results Tuesday evening everything looked normal and the doctor released him from the hospital. Tod has some nice bare spots on his chest where they put the EKG tabs, and he has decided that he will never let anyone wax his chest. He has also had his fare share of needles to last him a long while.
Chase participated in his pinewood derby on Saturday. He didn't win one race and he handled it very well. In fact he sat there an cheered all the boys on and was such a good sport. He ended up winning the good sportsmanship award this year. Way to go Chase!

How scary!!! We are so glad to hear Uncle Tod is okay. Love you guys!
Geez Natalie, I feel like I never see you anymore and look at all I've missed. I'm so glad Tod is OK. I can't imagine how scared you must have been. Especially since Dr. Earl died so young of heart problems just last week. It just goes to show you how precious life can be I guess.
